One of the Amazing Words this week in Mrs. Clark's 1st Grade class is the word PILOT. Today, the class had a special guest who knows a lot about being a pilot. Mrs. Mullinax came to share with the class about what the word pilot means, what you have to do to become a pilot, about the equipment on a plane, and what a plane can carry. She shared with the class that her husband, a pilot, once carried a dog for someone in his plane. Thank you, Mrs. Mullinax for sharing with our class today.

7th grade life science students recently built DNA models using colored marshmallows to represent nitrogen bases and twizzlers to represent the phosphate backbone. Some of them were able to use their model to also build a model strand of mRNA in the process of transcription.
