STEAM 6-8 worked on two projects from the Ancient Art time period. First they worked on a clay project and today started their printmaking project. They carved their Egyptian image into foam, used a brayer to apply paint and then printed it on white or black paper.

First Grade STEAM worked on Clay Tile Petroglyphs. They chose an image and carved it into a red clay tile. Next, they underglazed the image and it is now being fired in the kiln!

5th grade used Lego today after a lesson on classifying.

Bus #6 is running approximately 20 minutes late this evening. We apologize for the inconvenience.

School is in full swing and time has gotten away from me. I need to introduce myself to all of you Panthers. My name is Christine Hollenkamp and I'm the new principal at Field Grade School. I live in Salem with my 3 dogs. I have one sister and my parents that live in Salem as well. I love to travel and read. Shopping and sweets are two of my other favorite things. I am a 20 year educator, having taught every grade 1-8 and most recently special education students. I'm so lucky to call myself a Panther and be part of Field Grade School. It's been my dream to be a principal for a while and I'm enjoying every minute of it. I've loved spending time with the students at lunch and seeing them in the halls throughout the day. I will see many of you at sporting events and other fun activities going on throughout the year. I've already met some wonderful people in this district and I thank you for making me feel so welcome. The staff at Field Grade School is just awesome and they have been very welcoming as well. I plan on this being a great year for students and staff at Field Grade School. I look forward to many more years here as a Panther.
